For those about to rock…

This Saturday on January 10th, 2009, a music festival is going down in the name of charity in a little Texas city called “Houston” (in the Sugar Land area). Last year about $20,000 was raised to fight muscular dystrophy thanks to the little-festival-that-could (and still can) which was (and still is) hosted by Reach.

Here ummm….here’s a bit from their press release that I’d rather just copy/paste:

Reach’s goal is to create an alliance between Houston bands (15 will be playing at the festival), regional businesses, and corporations to raise both awareness and funds for worthy causes. Reach Music Festival will be held at Oyster Creek Park in Sugar Land from 1:00 to 10:00 PM. This concert is composed of a variety of bands that are interested in supporting charitable causes through live music. We raise money by accepting corporate pledges, donations during the concert, wristband sales, and concessions. The MDA will be sending an ambassador who is currently living with muscular dystrophy to speak about how the MDA assists people like her each and every day.

(End of copy/paste bit)

So yeah, if you’re reading this - I hope that if you’re near the Houston area on January 10th that you will show up to this worthy cause.

Next post I think I’ll add my two cents about the Israeli/Gaza conflict.

For those about to rock for a worthy cause,
Henry
